Briefly Australia is a sub-continent with more than 25000 kilometres of coast.
It is located in the southern hemisphere consequently the seasons are reversed and
the climate is much diversified from the north to the south and from the east
to the west.
I thought to spend one year in the country. The project of
roadplan
built with TTQV software considered the travelling distance at around 33000 kilometres
with a margin of 10%. It was conceived from date to date over one month to take space-time
reference marks. Months are not completely used thus leaving a margin for either visiting
neighbourhood sites or to have rest and to have my truck serviced, they are
security days. As for the previous journeys, this forecast evolved; some
changes were foreseeable.
My truck was sent from Dili, capital of East Timor, to Darwin by a vessel of
the Perkins’ maritime company which has a frequency sailing from three
to four per month. Before leaving Rawang in June 2009, I had
received a quotation. My truck was cleaned to satisfy AQIS’ requirements.
The experiment of Graham Kelly was appreciated.
Two other websites were read to write the roadplan:
http://www.chazel.com/ and
http://www.casenavenroute.com/ .
