On the 17/03 I left Pantai Irama to go to Kuala Terengganu. The roads D11 then T1 and
T3 skirt the littoral sometimes on edge of beach sometimes on remote. After
Penarik on a few kilometres, a dreadful beach with an easy access for campers.
I lunched on the way. Then I stopped after Batu Rakit at random at a shop of
electronics, there was Internet. I published my website and I sent some
emails. I went back to the entry Batu Rakit to bivouac on the edge of a
miserable beach but with a beautiful panorama on sea and reef. |

The day
after I visited the main monuments of Kuala Terengganu. The State Museum is
more interesting by its architecture than by its collections. I traversed
China Town with my truck; it actually acts of one street whose frontages of
houses were restored. The central market and the Zainal Abidine Mosque were
visited by walking. At the south-east exit of the city the Floating Mosque on
edge of the sea is worth the hundred meters of detour. As in Kota Bahru and
other capitals of the provinces of the Malayan Federation, Kuala Terengganu is
a modern city with few tourist curiosities. |

By checking the bracing bars of the
body floor set up in Phnom Penh, I noted two cracks on the welded bars in
front of the central axis. Consequently I decided to stay in Cherating Beach
and to reach Johor Bahru with three-day trip. I cancelled my journey on the
West coast with the visit of Melaka. |
