The 11/03 I arrived in Rantau Pajang after having crossed the border post of Thailand. At immigration I obtained a 90 day VOA. Being stopped in front of the counter of immigration I released the place while going stationed at outside of the building. Then I returned to have the Carnet de Passage en Douane filled by Customs. I will have been able to leave without doing it as one year ago. But at the time of the exit of Malaysia in Johor Bahru towards Singapore the customs officer had asked it. I had to explain that at the entry the customs officer had not wanted to fill it, pious lie. |

I bivouacked close to the border post to prepare the publication of my website. Then I went to the known cybercafé of me a year ago, alas it did not exist more. I thus published the following day in Kota Bharu. |

|
One year ago the 12/03/2008, I was already in Kota Bharu on the move to Singapore to head
to Europe to have the body of my truck repaired. Now I went to the Man dealer
in Rawang via Kuala Lumpur to have my truck serviced and to have wearing parts
changed such as silent blocs of the supports of the cabin. The continuation of
the journey will be another story reported at the time of my stay in Rawang. |

Friday March 13 was not a lucky day. By arriving in Kuala Terengganu, capital of the eponym State, the city was completely deserted, closed shops, nobody in streets; it was dull plain. Was it of at Friday day of prayer in this state of strict obedience? Or for another reason? At the exit of the city I had lunch in a graver of which I questioned the manageress; alas her English knowledge was reduced to give the amount of the bill! Further on I wished to see the Turtle Sanctuary in Rantau Abang which I had not been able to visit last year, even report, door was closed. I decided to bivouac not far away to go back there the following day. I found a spot after Kuala Abang on a small peninsula partly occupied by a cemetery, quiet vicinity and especially no noisy. |
|
|
Thus in the morning of the 14/03 I headed back to Rantau Abang to visit the Turtle Sanctuary. Alas it was still closed due to holidays according to a questioned local people. Once again I did not see this small museum. I drove directly to Pantai Cherating where I remained the last year. I arrived there at lunch time. Nothing had changed, the site is immutable as well as the local population. I spent three nights there before heading to Genting Highlands in approach of Kuala Lumpur where I wished to enter with my truck. |
