From the 2005/07/03 to the 2005/07/05 --Three days to visit the western coast of Sweden located at the south and at the north of Göteborg

The crossing of the strait of Oresund which separates Copenhagen in Denmark and Malmö in Sweden was done by the new bridge-tunnel of 16 km, technical and architectural prowess. It was impossible for me to take photo, no parking area was envisaged.

I avoided the tourist city of Malmö to move towards Lund in order to see the cathedral out of sandstone dating back to XIIth century. It was 11 a.m. when I entered Domkyrkan. The religious office was in hand, I assisted to it well in spite of me, but without displeasure. Consequently, I can take photo neither the vault of the apse covered with mosaic nor the alabaster and black marble pulpit.

I left the E6 highway in Halmstad to take the coastal road passing through Falkenberg and Varberg. I traversed the Swedish countryside and I discovered the charming villages of Mjellby and Steninge, as well as the old and new technology.

Göteberg is the capital of the south of Sweden and the most industrial city, headquarter of the great Swedish technological companies. It is modern and old quarters were restored in the Swedish style, clean and clear. The many museums make a very important arts centre of it. It is embellished with parks, where I taken rest on several occasions at the time of my visit by bicycle. The prohibitive cost of the car parks makes the traffic of vehicles very fluid if not very rare. Kungsportsavenyn is regarded as the Göteborg's Champs Elysées, without car and truck The city is dedicated to bikes and pedestrians.
Swedish also are very relaxed. Thus the civil servant of the public services, the post office, adopt a uniform made up of shorts and short-sleeved shirt.

Bohusläne is the Riviera of Sweden, all things considered, because here all is dedicated to the pleasure sailing. The coast is cut by many fjords occupied by old fishing ports reconverted in marinas. In day the temperature reached 27°C, Swedish bathed!
Many villages are worth to be visited as well as the Roman churches of Svenneby and Skee.

This short trip to Sweden was in conformity with the idea that I was done, clean,  well organized and expensive. As Danish, Swedish benefits the maximum of few sunny weeks that the localization of their country offers. I will come back in Sweden from the Northern Cape to visit Swedish Lapland and Stockholm.
