Carnet de passage en douane
"Simplified Customs Declaration Form"

Le carnet de passage en douane (CPD) n’est pas requis pour entrer en Thaïlande. Le douanier rédige un document informatique "Simplified Customs Declaration Form" avec des informations du CPD. Je suggère d’avoir un papier avec ces informations pour éviter de montrer le CPD.

Le carnet de passage en douane (CPD) is not necessary to enter Thailand. Customs officer compile a data-processing document “Simplified Customs Declaration Form” with information of the CPD. I suggest having a paper with this information to avoid showing the CPD.

I Première entrée en Thaïlande:
Le 14/12/07 au poste frontière de la Thaïlande àun officier me prit en charge avec le carnet. Nous fîmes plusieurs bureaux pour trouver la personne idoine. Ici les touristes avec un véhicule sont très rares. Enfin j’expliquais la manière de le remplir. Puis j’allais au guichet de l’Immigration où j’obtins un visa gratuit de trente jours et je reçus une "departure card" avec la date d’entrée Enfin j’allais au bureau de l’importation d’un véhicule où je reçus un document qui avait été préparé à partir du volet importation du Carnet. Le véhicule ne fut pas visité. La procédure dura environ trois quarts d’heure.

I First entry Thailand:
The 14/12/07 at the border post of Thailand an officer dealt with me and with the Carnet. We made several offices to find the suitable person. Here tourists with a vehicle are very rare. Finally I explained the manner of filling it. Then I went to the counter of Immigration where I obtained a thirty-day free visa and I received a “departure card” with the date of entry Finally I went to the booth of the importation of a vehicle where I received a document which had been prepared with the Importation voucher of the Carnet. The vehicle was not visited. The procedure lasted approximately three fifteen minutes.

II Première sortie de Thaïlande:
Le 12/01/08 je remontais la file des camions pour m’engager sous le auvent métallique en prenant la file des voitures selon l’indication du personnel. Je garais le camion côté gauche devant le bâtiment de l’Immigration où j’allais faire tamponner mon passeport en remettant la "departure card". Puis je retournais sous l’auvent à la douane pour remettre la fiche signalétique du véhicule et faire tamponner le carnet de passage en douane. Enfin au kiosk de sortie je remplis deux formulaires pour le camion et moi-même en donnant une photocopie du passeport, du permis de conduire international et du carnet de passage. De plus je payais 25 bahts car je franchissais la frontière un samedi (!)

II First exit Thailand:
The 12/01/08 I went up a file of trucks to engage me under the metal hood by taking a file for cars according to the indication of the personnel. I parked my truck on the left-hand side in front of the building of Immigration where I was going to make stamp my passport while giving the “departure card”. Then I turned over under the hood to the customs to give the identification sheet of the vehicle and to make stamp the carnet de passage. Finally at a exit kiosk I filled two forms for my truck and myself by giving a photocopy of my passport, international driving license and carnet de passage. Moreover I paid 25 bahts because I crossed the border on Saturday (!)

III Deuxième entrée en Thaïlande:
Le 11/02/08 après avoir franchi l'Arche de Bienvenue au Cambodge je me trouvais en Thaïlande. Au kiosk de contrôle un employé rempli deux formulaires "Information of Conveyance" et "Crew list" en deux exemplaires, je lui remis deux copies du passeport, permis de conduire international, carte grise et attestation d'assurance. Puis j'allais au bureau de l'Immigration pour obtenir le VOA, free visa on arrival de trente jours. Au retour l'employé du kiosk à la vue du visa me donna un exemplaire de chaque document. Avec le camion je poursuivis le circuit pour m'arrêter sous le bâtiment principal où un douanier rédigea sur ordinateur le "Simplified Customs Declaration Form" à la vue de celui de ma première entrée. Je ne donnais pas le carnet de passage en douane. La procédure dura environ trente minutes.

III Second entry Thailand:
The 11/02/08 after having crossed the Arch of Welcome in Cambodia I was in Thailand. At a kiosk of control someone filled two forms “Information of Conveyance” and “Crew list” in two copies, I given him two copies of my passport, international driving license, green card and certificate of insurance. Then I went to the office of Immigration to obtain a VOA, thirty-day free visa on arrival. At the return to the kiosk with the visa the employee gave me a copy of each document. With the truck I continued the circuit to stop under the main building where a customs officer wrote on computer a “Simplified Customs Declaration Form” with the sight of that one of my first entry. I did not give the carnet de passage en douane. The procedure lasted approximately thirty minutes.

IV Deuxième sortie de Thaïlande:
Le 11/03/08 en début d’après-midi j’entrais sous le hangar du département de la douane avec le camion et je stoppais devant le kiosk où se trouvaient les douaniers. Je présentais les trois documents remplis à l’entrée. Ils ne conservèrent que le "Simplified Customs Declaration Form" que je dus émarger ainsi qu’un registre. Puis je repris le camion pour aller au bureau de l’immigration, je stationnais avant le bâtiment. Le préposé visualisa mon visage avec une caméra pour le confronter avec la photo prise à l’entrée dans le pays. Après avoir récupéré mon passeport dûment tamponné je repris le camion pour aller en Malaisie. Le parcours dura au grand maximum une quinzaine de minutes. Du carnet de passage en douane il n’en fut pas question ce qui explique la rapidité de la procédure.

IV Second exit Thailand:
The 11/03/08 at the beginning of afternoon I entered under the hangar of the customs department with my truck and I stopped in front of the kiosk where the customs officers were. I presented the three documents filled out at the entry the country. They preserved only “Simplified Customs Declaration Form” that I due sign as well as a register. Then I took again my truck to go to the office of immigration, I stationed before the building. The employee visualized my face with a camera to confront it with the photo catch at the entry the country. After having recovered my passport duly stamped I took again my truck to go to Malaysia. The procedure lasted to the great maximum about fifteen minutes. Of Carnet de passage en douane it was not question what explains the speed of the procedure.
