Colonia del Sacramento

On Monday, July 11th I went back to Montevideo. I sought the post office to buy a stamp for a postcard to France. El Correos is located in the old city with a very difficult parking. I found one on the quays beyond Mercado del Puerto requiring a long walk to find El Correos again. While walking on I located a restaurant with WIFI to take a complement of breakfast and to publish the pages of my website. Finally around 14:00 I had appointment with KMA for the forwarding of my truck at the beginning of April 2017. I learned that the price was in Euros and that the payment was to be carried out by banking transfer. The person will send to me e-mail in February 2017 with the booking number, information for the banking transfer and the estimated date of loading for an arrival at the latest on May 15th, 2017 at Antwerp. Into final I moved towards Colonia del Sacramento where I was able at the falling night to bivouac on Plaza Mayor 25 of Mayo.

On Tuesday, July 12th I visited Colonia del Sacramento registered in the world heritage. While strolling I went to the ferry terminal to inform me of the schedules and the price. I learned there was no more ferry for trucks and motor homes; it was necessary to go to Argentina by the road and to pass the border at Fray Bentos and to cross the international bridge. Around 14:00 I started. Alas by advice of Tourist Information I took the ruta #21 of which the roadway is often very degraded. It had been preferable certainly to take the ruta #1 then #2 longer but more comfortable. In Fray Bentos right before the international bridge the two border posts are in the same building, like often between Canada and the USA.
