-- From Varanasi to Puri
The week was devoted going to Chennai where a shipping-agent awaited me on October 24th with a getting-under-way boat on the 28/10. The envisaged road plan took the NH2 from Varanasi to Bahri then the NH33 up to Baharagora and the NH5 to Puri where I had rest on the beach attended at the beginning of year.

From Bahri the road is like always in India, best and worst. Often the worst is in cities and villages, probably maintenance must fall on the local community. I bivouacked on a waste platform before the village of Bundu.

The day of the 17/10 was one of the most painful of my trip in India. The NH33 after Jamshedpur was a hell so much the road was battered. However I favoured myself while lunching at A1 Plazza in Jamshedpur. I have ordinary pleasures! I arrived towards 17:30 at the border of Orissa among several hundreds of trucks. I spoke with a policeman who led me to the office to meet a responsible people. I had taken the Carnet which was used as passport; the met person had obviously never seen one. The palaver lasted nearly twenty minutes. The night having fallen, I stopped at the first service area.

The NH5 is always under work which seemed not to have progressed since my passage the 26/12/2006. On the way I noted that many villages in Orissa had built temples with scaffolding of bamboos covered with colour cloths to celebrate a Hindu festival and of course with a over boost soundblaster. I bivouacked in Bhadrak.

From Bhadrak to Bhubaneshwar the NH5 is with four lanes except for some bridges under repair. Then the road to Puri has good condition. I arrived at my bivouac of the end of the previous year around 17:30. Some people greeted me, they had recognized my truck!
The following week was devoted to go to Chennai in three days to fill forms of loading of my truck to Malaysia.
