In eight weeks, duration of a non
extensible visa, I wished to visit Indonesia then East Timor with a VOA before
going to Australia. In June 2003 Graham Kelly had tried a challenge and he held it
not without difficulties reported by his website.
Profiting from his experiment and receiving his documents, I also tried with
my truck to travel Indonesia. The couple of
Swiss met in Cambodia had visited it by
motorbikes from Australia to the South-East Asia.
The difficulties are administrative. Neither the embassy of France in Kuala Lumpur
nor the embassy of the USA in Jakarta advised to enter a vehicle in Indonesia.
I hoped that the facilities obtained by my predecessors were always valid.
I established a roadplan
to take reference marks in space and time to check the possibility of
being in Kupang, West Timor, within validity of the visa knowing that the
major constraint was the ferry boat from Flores to Timor whose frequency is
not very important and dates uncertain. |
