Edmonton

On Monday, October 8, second Monday of October is a holiday, Thanksgiving. But all the stores of Shopping Centres are of course open to do business. I strolled on Malls with the meeting of Canadians. I noted the multiculturalism of Alberta as well as the source of the products as a large majority from China. Since the beginning of my long stay at Edmonton I had opened the Assimil method of the Spanish. Indeed at the beginning of January 2013, if all is well, I will be in Mexico. I thus try to assimilate some Spanish turn of phrase…

The Tuesday 9th in the early morning I have the unpleasant surprise to note that the Panda Generator did not start. I carried out an analysis of causes without much success. The devil continued its assiduities. In this context I received an e-mail from MAN-Bresse announcing that the spare parts had been sent and would be delivered on Thursday the 11th before the end of the day. Consequently I asked Volvo to move the appointment on Friday, October 12 with a complementary task the repair the Panda Generator animated by a small Kubota diesel engine. The Michelin tires 14.00R20XL bought at Houston, TX, ex-military, are very poor qualities. I have a rotation made of the wheels at Kal Tire to try to prolong their mileage. Without generator I was to go in an opened campground, seldom in this season. I found Glowing Embers where I remained three nights. The weather became worse with snow and temperature around -4°C.

Edmonton, Volvo Truck Centre

On Friday morning having consulted the UPS website I noted that the parcel of MAN-Bresse had not been delivered as announced. Consequently I headed to UPS to take it before arriving at Volvo where the installation was carried out with professionalism, the valves adjusted and the Panda Generator put in operating condition I left the garage in middle of afternoon under an icy drizzle to station at the Wal-Mart carpark.

Calgary

On Saturday in mid-morning I left Edmonton without regret. The road stretched in long straight lines in the plain at the east of the Rockies. While arriving at the Shopping Centre in the south Calgary, in reward for… I treated myself a sweetness at Tim Hortons accompanied by a smooth hot chocolate, at the North-American mode.

Lethbridge

Coutts, border town

After a stop in front of McDo for an unfruitful Internet connection I left Calgary, Olympic city, for the border between Canada & the USA. The road is always on the plateau at an average altitude of 1050 meters high in a plain where the harvest was finished recently. I made a stop at Lethbridge in front of McDo having a more effective Internet connection. Finally I arrived at Coutts with back wind around 16:30 to bivouac on a truck parking.
