Putting in conformity with AQIS requirements

The AQIS' requirements are drastic; they were hardened since a few years with the world propagation of “malignant fevers”. The work carried out by “A1 Services” was big, all was cleaned by Kärcher, no trace of dust, ground and tar must pollute the vehicle, it must be spotless like new! A1 is an Australian company, whose leaders told me, “Australia is an island; we must be very vigilant not to import pathogenic genes”. The A1' tools were obsolete and local workers were not very efficient, I had to animate them by implying me to advance work. I took approximately 250 pictures to prove what was done. I remained concerned for the passage of control in Australia; it is like in army, a weekly warrant officer can always find a trace of dust. Moreover the delay taken for obtaining, always hypothetical to date, an Australian visa implied an ultimate washing of my truck before the transportation to the port to remove dust accumulated during its parking.

Working by A1 Services

The great stages of work were:
--Washing and extraction of tar of the vehicle:
--Removing solar panels and cleaning lower part,
--Removing and cleaning  sheets of désensablement,
--Cleaning tools, spare parts and trunks,
--Cleaning the garage, the two spare wheels and my bicycle,
--Removing wheels and brake drums, de-dusting and washing,
--Removing and throwing water, air and air-conditioning filters,
--Removing and cleaning of interior lining of the cabin winds,
--Cleaning the engine
--Removing and cleaning water, intercooler and air-conditioning radiators,
--Removing and cleaning Panda generator and campervan aircon,
--Removing of the trimmings of doors and washing of their interior,
--Emptying the windscreen washer tank and cleaning the tank,
--Cleaning the cabin,
--Complete cleaning of the interior of the campervan, drawers, cupboards and crockery, and the loo,
--Removing and cleaning curtains and mosquito nets of windows,
--Emptying water tanks,
--Cleaning technical boxes and batteries, etc.
Work lasted nine days with four workmen included two days with two mechanics for removing the four brake drums, radiators and interchangers, and   doors. Nothing being perfect I spent my mornings while waiting for the Australian visa and the extension of that one of Timor Leste to re-examine the doubtful parts.

Problems of visas

The 03/09 the embassy of Australia informed me that my X-ray was abnormal and it was to be sent to the office of Immigration in Australia for decision. I was to return the 11/09 for information. Before back I had an appointment with the doctor of the Australian Medical Clinic who had examined my X-ray. She informed me that I had a benign pulmonary problem following a beginning of cold. Nothing serious however the AQIS legislation required to inform the embassy which transmitted the file in Australia for decision within  from three to four weeks to obtain it. I went to take back my passport at the embassy for having an extension of my visa of Timor Leste of which expired date was the 22/09. Alas I learned that the extension was within two weeks and that it was needed a sponsor. The General Manager of SDV Logistic accepted to be it. Moreover administrative offices work only from the 8 a.m. to noon. I was to back on Monday 14/09 to give my file. What to conclude, I managed nothing, I discovered problems progressively by piling up the deadlines. I hoped to have no difficulties for the extension of my visa of Timor Leste! To follow…
