Visa matter

-- Extension of the visa of East Timor:
The 14/09 I gave the file for an extension of the visa, divine surprised the time is only one week.
The 21/09 afternoon I went back there to recover my passport; alas it was a Muslim religious holiday, administration offices were closed.
The 22/09 I went again to the Police of Immigration, my passport was not available. I was very anxious, indeed someone met on the spot, awaited his passport since four weeks. I made all the offices badgering the police officers and waiting ten minutes in ten minutes to have my passport. Finally tired to see me a police officer went to seek it, it was ready with the extension of the visa.
In East Timor, as in other Asia countries, it is necessary to be pugnacious and tough by smiling.

-- Visa of Australia:
The 18/09 I went to the embassy to ask for the decision coming from Australia Immigration office, nothing…
The 23/09 I gave my passport with the extension of the visa of East Timor, if not nothing…
The 25/09 I returned again to the embassy, the manager of the visa office met me. He explained me that the process for granting a visa comprised several investigation areas, health, financial resources, general information and an interview on motivations to visit Australia. After this meeting I should return on Monday 28/09 to know his decision to grant me or not a visa.
The 28/09 I went for the last time to the embassy of Australia to get the decision of the Immigration office manager. During the intervieiw on September 25 I had given him my business card and we had looked at my website. By arriving the employee informed me that my visa was ready. I waited approximately twenty minutes to receive my passport.
The real cost of the visa arises with close to US$1100.
At the embassy of Australia obtaining a 12 month visa is deserved.

During these two weeks in the morning I polished the cleanliness of my truck and in the afternoon either I had a rest or I strolled in Dili after heat to find a picture to be published in Geo. Que nenni I did not find it, maybe for lack of imagination.
I met Jean Béliveau, a French Canadian, who walks round the world since August 18, 2000, www.wwwalk.org. It was an enthralling meeting.

Not using my truck not to pollute it, my life concentrated in a quadrilateral of 100 meters X 10 meters in the one-way avenue of the President Nicalau Lobato. On left side SDV, Perkins and Fedex, Starco Restaurant and a little further Easynet, opposite SDV, on right side Rocella Hotel then A1.

Strolling in the city I stopped at a Timor Telecom shop - TT-, I learned that Orange did not have an agreement with TT to access the mobile network contrary to Bouyghes Telecom and SFR, then at another shop to have my business card printed.

Moving & loadin of my truck

At the exit of the embassy after the meeting on the 25/09 I was in waiting to see what happens, I can only think. Back in my perimeter of life, I entered  SDV to ask for the schedules of a vessel to Darwin. The next one arrived from Singapore on Monday morning 28/09. I decided to load in my truck, I informed A1 to have my truck transported to the port of Dili.
The 28/09 was a long waiting day. About 5:00pm I was informed that my truck could not be transported by a carry-truck but it was to head to the port where I gave the key to Pedro in charge of its loading.

Border crossing

I had not anticipated the purchase of an air ticket. The 28/09 at Sugar Travel, in my perimeter of life, I bought one to Darwin.
The 30/09 I took the plane at Dili Airport in the west of the town. The exit formalities were without difficulty. The plane of the darwinian AirNorth company makes the way in 1:15 with half an hour time lag more.

Thanks

I left Asia, lato sensu, with nostalgia. I had some difficulties, accidents and incidents, but what joys in meetings and visits. Everywhere where I made myself known as French, my interlocutors spontaneously told me Zidane. He was without indisputably the best ambassador of France, thank you Zizou.
