Preparation of the entry Singapore |
The 25/06 about 07:00 am I took a bus 170, I crossed the border of Malaysia then that of Singapore; then with a MRT I headed from Kranji to Outram Park close to HH Office where I had appointment to arrange the transfer of my truck from the border of Singapore to the port. I learned that I could not drive any more my truck with a Singapore registered plate as the last year. Jimmy explained me that foreigners had contravened the prohibition to bivouac on the island of Singapore consequently LTA had removed this facility by obliging the towing of campervan to ensure its transfer from the border to the port. Then I met Simon Ng of 2WL to fill the forwarding documentation of my truck. I paid the invoice of HH, US$400 & the invoice of 2WL US$2033. I went back in Johor Bahru in the late morning. |

Entry & exit Singapore |
The 26/06 around 06:30 am I left the carpark with my truck to cross the border of Malaysia at the CIQ Building in ten minutes then I formed part of the truck queue on the causeway to arrive at the customs at Woodland Checkpoint in Singapore around 07:10 am where I awaited the arrival of Mr. Ang of HH and the towing truck at 08:00 am. I recovered my passport and the carnet of my truck. We arrived at the customs of the port about 09:10 am; it was necessary nearly two hours to go to the jetty, purchase of a pass to enter the port, recall of the towing truck because I could not drive in the enclosure of the port, recovery of the carnet of my truck and crossing the control of the port. Finally around 11:00 am I took the MRT at Queenstown station to go to the airport to take a plane to Jakarta at 4:00 pm delayed a half an hour. After a Damri bus from the airport of Jakarta to Gambir Terminal and a motodriver I arrived at the Hotel Ibis. This long day ended about 7:00 pm. No difficulty, but rigorous controls in Singapore were still hardened compared to the previous year; safety, security & cleanliness are key words of the Singaporean lifestyle. |
