Ruta #40, Roadside
On Monday, January 31st I left the peaceful bivouac of Mirador Lago
Steffen with regret to join Bariloche where I had an appointment at
Allianz to take the extension of the insurance of my truck. What was
my disappointment to note that the extension was one year! Of course
I did not pay it, to follow. Then I spent approximately two hours
for surfing on Internet with a good WiFi connection. I left
Bariloche around midday to join the bivouac of January 25th on the
parking area of the ruta #40. In the morning on my way I admired the
plays of sunlight which played hide-and-seek with the clouds,
fantastic.

San Martin de los Andes
On Tuesday, January 31st the RN #40 after Villa La Angostura climbs
in the mountains until nearly 1200 meters high while curving around
Lagos. Unfortunately I left to too late to admire as the day before
the rising sun on the landscape. While arriving at San Martin de los
Andes I went to the oficina of turismo then I went in search of a
locutorio, cybercafé, for scanning two documents. What a surprised,
the power was cut off for a unlimited duration, therefore no
scanner! Indeed some shops had an extremely noisy electricity
generator. Consequently I continued my way by doing shopping in the
supermarket Anonima at the exit of the city then I found a bivouac
behind YPF gas station. The day was sunny with a temperature close
to 30°C. At YPF I saw a bird whose medium of the head, the end of
the nozzle, the breast piece and legs were color of heavy fuel as if
it had bathed in a pollution following the shipwreck of a tanker.
Maybe it is true!

Lago Lolog
While leaving from the bivouac and San Martin de los the Andes I
stopped at the YPF gas station to take a complement of breakfast in
order to use a good Wifi connection in the Full shop; I remained all
the morning there. Then I went by the ruta#62 to Lago Lolog to
bivouac during a few days of rest at the altitude of 900 meters with
an outside temperature of 23°C. A light fog stationed above lake.
The place being peaceful and without tourist I decided to remain
still a day more. It was the occasion to observe raptors and another
predator, a such a fox with the mounting. The day was gloomy with
some drops of rain. The second day I had to move my truck towards a
height because the level of the water of the lake went up
appreciably!

Lago Curruhué
On Saturday, February 4th I went to Junin de los Andes for the
supermarket and a cybercafé. But the village did not hold my
attention; I left it to direct me towards the border with Chile.
Provincial roads RP #62 curve along Lago Curruhué by overhanging it
and in underwood at an altitude ranging between 1000 and 1100
meters. Finally I found a bivouac at the edge of the track before a
bridge and close to the lake.
