Curanipe
On Monday, February 13th I visited while passing the town of
Concepción where I did not find Wifi connection only a Unimarc
supermarket to make supply in food. I continued my road up to
Curanipe at the edge of the Pacific Ocean. Weather was cold and
cover. The beach is sumptuous with its basaltic color. There too
Wifi connection did not enable me to publish the pictures of my
website. Despite everything I remained two days there.

Las Lomas
On Wednesday, February 15th while passing in the town of
Constitución, I found in downtown area a good Wifi connection to
publish the pages of my website and to make the press review, always
the same political mess preceding the presidential election,
at the end of April and at the beginning of May. Then I found a
bivouac after Putu towards Las Lomas. The landscape is wooded and
the road skirts the Pacific Ocean in rolling mountain and
serpentine. Many companies treating wood mark out the road. Houses
are as in Canada and the USA out of bonded wood.

On Thursday, February 16th I made a long detour to go to visit Santa
Cruz, the capital of the Chile's wineries. In Plaza de Armas I got
information at "Ruta del Vino" to visit the most famous winery in
Colchagua Valley. It is Viu Manent where I was going to lunch in the
in situ restaurant, highly advisable. Then on the way towards the
coast of the Pacific Ocean I stopped to bivouac in a coldly
harvested field at Paraguas Orilla.

Quintay
The day of the Friday, February 17th started agreeably with a field
gleaming of flowers of red color. Splendid vision, without knowing
the name of this plant. From San Antonio the road tor Isla Negra was
a long succession of cars driving to the stop and go. The visit of
the Pablo Neruda's house in Isla Negra was one great moment to
plunge in his intimacy with his wife Mathilde, alas, hundred times
alas No Picture inside the house. I had decided to bivouac in
Quintay at the edge of the ocean. It took me two hours to traverse
45 kilometers. While arriving I noted that it was impossible to
approach the ocean. On the road of the return I found a rest area
for one night.

Quintero
On Saturday, February 18th I arrived at Valparaiso around 10:00. I
have enormous difficulties for finding a guarded parking lot close
to Plaza Sotomayor. On the port the kiosk of the oficina of tourismo
provides me documentation to visit the city and especially to go on
a Mural tour. I passed more than three hours to traverse the hill,
Cerro Concepción, mounting and descending staircases to finish with
a funicular. Along the hill 15 funiculars were built between 1883
and 1916. I photographed 36 murals of which 10 are in the gallery.

moreover the price for foreigners is much higher than that for the
Chileans. I went my way. In the afternoon I sought a bivouac. Since
Isla Negra the coast is concreted like the Riviera between Golfe
Juan and Nice with a long line of cars as in the month of July and
August. I found a bivouac only in Quintero overhanging the Atlantic
Ocean. I had bought a plane ticket and reserved a hotel to visit
Rapa Nui, Easter Island, from March 4th to March 8th, with two days
first to visit Santiago. I was thus in one week advance that I
passed in Quintero. Consequently this publication covers until
February 26th.
