Algeciras
Tuesday the 7th the arrival at Tarifa was around 16:00. The
unloading and the administrative procedure were rather long. I leave
the port little before 17:00. The road from Tarifa to Algeciras is
in cornice along the sea. The crossing of the city undergoes
congestions. I arrived at the car park of Lidl around 17:50 to make
shopping as well at Lidl as at Carrefour. I bivouacked on the spot.

Rest area
Wednesday, January 8 I expected 10:00 the opening
of the shops of the shopping mall of Carrefour supermarket to buy a SIM
card. Alas as well Orange as Vodafone were not able to parameterize the
SIM card to function with the WiFi modem; very disappointed I went to
approach Grenade. I bivouacked on a rest area. The highway curves in the
covered mountains by deserted vacation villages in this season along the
Mediterranean. Malaga is the typical example of these villages
accommodating the tourists tears of the sun bathing!

Grenada
Thursday, January 9 I left the service area very early to be in
Grenade,
here,
before the rush hour. It was a relevant decision because
GPS make me circulate on a way reserved for the buses like in narrow
streets in the old city! I arrived at the carpark dedicated to the
caravans around 7:40. As of the installation of my vehicle I left
for the entrance of Alhambra,
here,
where I was around 8:20 for an opening to 8:30. I finished
the visit around 12:30 to be back to my truck around 13:00 to carry
out the selection of the 120 photographs to be put on the page of my
website. Unquestionably Alhambra is a masterpiece of the Arab-Muslim
art registered with the world heritage of humanity.

La Alhambra |
Friday, January 10, I visited the main religious monuments in
Granada built by the very Catholic kings, Isabelle & Ferdinand,
infamous for the establishment of the Inquisition. The Basilica San
Juan de Dios is an example of the magnificence of Spain in the
conquest of the Americas with the spoliation and disappearance of
the native peoples by bloodthirsty adventurers such as Hernan Cortés
and Francisco Pizarro followers of "Gold, God, and Glory ". The
later cathedral is relatively more austere, less covered in gold.
The trip in Granada is quite difficult considering the hills to
climb. The return to the parking lot of my vehicle was particularly
slow.
