En route Hwy #65 exit#230
After the conditioning of my truck after three days of stop I left
KOA-campground around 9:40 by driving round Chicago to enter on Hwy
#65 towards the south. After a lunched stop in Hobart I found a
bivouac at the exit #230 on a small road by installing my truck on
the roadside of what should be an allotment, not traffic. It was
14:25 and the outside temperature was of 33°C, good night!

En route road #52
Yesterday evening around 24:00 whereas I swam in a sauna! A car
ground around my truck. 15 to 20 minutes later the car of the
Sheriff of the county stopped and the Sheriff informed me that I
could not remain at this place. After discussion he agreed to lead
me so that I discovered, early morning, being the annex of the
Sheriff's office. I left it to go to Indianapolis by stopping at
Walmart in Lafayette. Then I continued by the road #52 in the
direction of Lebanon. I warned a garage given up at the edge of the
road which accommodated me for the bivouac. But half an hour later a
police car came close to my vehicle. The police officer questioned
to me, asked for my papers which he looked carefully. After
discussion, good child, he accepted that I remain there. These two
representatives of the law were pleasant. On the road there was no
police car, from which did leave? How were they informed? Are they
connected to a satellite constellation which detects a strange
vehicle? But reality is probably simpler,… especially no
conspirationnism.

I left the garage ruins around 7:30 with the intention to visit
Indianapolis Museum Art, IMA, where I arrived around 9:00 I
discovered that it opened at 11:00. I went my way death in my heart.
I jumped also Louisville to arrive in Nashville around 17:00 to
bivouac on the carpark of Walmart & Lowe's, the latter has a
Wi-Fi spot. But there are panels of
prohibition of overnight, to follow. On Hwy #65 a crank had sat on
the roof of its car stationing on shoulder. Since Detroit I ran on
the Time Line North-South between the hour of coast-east and the
hour of the center. I am now in the Center time zone (US & CA

The night carries advise. Early morning I looked for the address of
the Mercedes-Benz workshop on Internet to go there as of the opening
hours, 7:00. It was a good decision because when I started my truck,
the icon of the indicator appearing as an engine was light. I was
the first. With much of kindness the team dealt with me listened to
my explanations in approximate but comprehensible technical English.
I was waiting in the living room then around 10:00 the person in
charge explained me that he had got in touch with Germany and that
it was necessary to make an upgrade of the software of the computer
of my truck. He was on standby to take delivery of it. Around 13:30
he returned towards me to tell me that all was ok and in good state
of run, phew. Arrived around 6:45 I left the workshop around 14:00
to return on the carpark of Walmart/Lowe's.

In the evening while returning to the Walmart carpark I had a doubt.
I sent e-mail to Achim of ORC to know if the updated software were
compatible with EURO 3. His answer, received in the small hour, was
dubitative. Consequently I returned to Mercedes-Benz to ask a
question by showing it. Nobody could answer; it was necessary to ask
Germany. I waited in the living room. Around 9:30 I decided to go to
visit Nashville while returning to Walmart to take a direct bus for
the downtown area where I arrived around 11:00. There are not many
curiosities. I started with State Capitol. Then, First Center for
the Visual Arts exposed objects of Vienna Secession, unfortunately
No-Photo. I walked in Lower Broadway Ave where all
on-air-conditioned bars diffuse Country-music thundering. Finally I
immersed myself in the Country Music Hall of Fame which on two
levels tells the story of the country music with its most famous
singers. But it is necessary to be American to appreciate. I went
back by bus to Walmart carpark where the temperature was 38°C to
external and 42°C to interior of my truck. In real time I exchanged
e-mails with Mercedes-Benz which made it clear me that there should
not be problem after discussion with an MB engineer. As ORC's Achim
I was dubitative.

On Saturday morning while starting my truck the engine icon remained
lit. Knowing the Mercedes-Benz garage is open on Saturdays I went
back there to speak with the receptionist. It was very short, “Come
back on Monday at 8:00 am". Due to this new situation but alas not
unexpected, Indeed I preferred that it occurs as of now. I returned
to Walmart to profit from the Lowe's Wifi connection . I did not
wish to remain on the carpark because trucks were able to station
the weekend while letting turn the engine! I found a campground in
Smyrna to about 40 km eastwards from Mercedes-Benz garage in
Franklin. Oh miracle, it is shaded.
