On Monday, December 28th I took the road without to have found a opened cybercafe. The objective of the day was to go to Lago Paron of which I had the GPS coordinates. In Chimbote I moved towards Rio Santa whose gorges are impressive. The landscape recalled me, all things being equal, my peregrinations in the Himalayas, road from Darsha to Leh, road from Srinagar to Leh without forgetting the unforgettable road from Karakoram high Way ie KKH to Skardhu. In Caraz I climbed in the mountains to reach Lago Paron, after having taken information. My digital maps were to me of any helps nor the City Map Navigation by Garmin, the tracks do not appear. I wandered on tracks in the direction of the GPS waypoint I end around 17:00 in front of an impracticable wood bridge by my truck. Peasants saw me to propose to push me believer whom I had sunk. I explained to them that tired I slept on the spot.
On Tuesday, December 29th I planned to remain two days in Huaraz on the carpark of a known hotel by travellers. Alas it was closed. I warned in an adjacent street another hotel, but the carpark was complete. I decided to carry on my way up to Chavin de Huantar to see this site again thirty years. The road is asphalted up to the tunnel de Kahuish then it is a succession of muddy pot-holes. The site was built between 1200 and 800 BC by one of the oldest civilization of the continent. The basement of the buildings is furrowed by many galleries whose scholars conjecture that they were used for religious ceremonies. I bivouacked at the gas station.
On Wednesday, December 30th I took the road as of the sunrise to bring me closer to Lima where I wished to go to buy diesel fuel filters, if possible, at Mercedes-Benz. I stopped at the Tunnel de Kahuish to take the photograph of my truck with altitude given by a panel. I noted that two Garmin GPS gave each one a different altitude. Which is the right one? I took on the way some photographs at the time of the descent towards Panamerica Norte which curves in the desert. My truck was covered with mud; I made it wash to be presentable. I bivouacked behind dilapidated houses on the ruta #1n towards Reserva de Lachay.

On Thursday morning December 31st I went to Mercedes-Benz for my truck routine maintenance, 60,000 km. What was my disappointment to note that the concession made a bridge until on Monday, January 4th, 2016! I decided to go to install me at Hitchhikers (Hotel) known by travellers. The second disappointment, it was complete until Monday. I reserved a room from Monday. I made provisions in Tottus nearest then I returned to the bivouac of the day before for four days, until Monday. It was a long weekend of end of the year with as fly company.
