L’Orient-Express me dépose à la gare d’Istanbul où une
voiture privée me prend en charge pour un transfert à l’hôtel Sofitel Taksim ;
la durée du séjour est de cinq jours dont quatre de visites et un jour de
repos à mi-temps. Après moult recherches sur Internet je choisis au doigt
mouillé une agence dont le contact par courriel directement en français fut

Le guide Lonely Planet de Turquie que j’avais pour le
voyage en 2023 donne la liste des sites que je souhaite visiter à Istanbul
transmise à l’agence de voyage pour établir le planning des visites tenant
compte des journées de prière réservées aux musulmans ainsi que la proximité
des sites pour minimiser mon déplacement à pied. Les longs trajets sont en
voiture privée et les visites accompagnées par un guide privé francophone.
Eu égard à mes pathologies la visite des monuments
d’Istanbul est un véritable défit que j’espère assumer. Je prépare mes
visites avec le Lonely Planet et deux livres d’art, Constantinople, de
Byzance à Istanbul de Stéphane Yerasimos et Byzance de Mazenod. Le carnet de

to establish the schedule of visits taking into account the days of prayer
reserved for Muslims as well as the proximity of the sites to minimize my
travel on foot. Long journeys are by private car and visits accompanied by a
private French-speaking guide.
Given my pathologies, visiting the monuments of Istanbul is a real challenge
that I hope to take on. I prepare my visits with the Lonely Planet and two
art books, Constantinople, from Byzance to Istanbul by Stéphane Yerasimos
